Video games have been my favorite pastime since I can remeber. I wouldn’t have imagined as a kid that video games would be part of my daily life as I’ve met many awesome friends in the gamming online community and it’s my favorite hobby.
First video game I remember playing is Paperboy on my dad’s old IBM Personal Home Computer, for those who may not be familiar with the game you essentially a paper boy and had to deliver The Daily Sun to each house while avoiding obstacles in the way. Gaming to me back then was an occasional pastime thing to do, playing when the computer was free or saving up all the nickels and quarters for the arcade we would visit occasionally. It wasn’t until my dad brought home Battlefield 1942 that I saw the future potential of videogaming. Multiplayer was huge for me, just the idea of playing with other people across the world amazed me.
World of Warcraft was one of my first experiences playing a multiplayer game. I may not be a huge fan of the current state of the game but my most memorable experiences was when the game first came out up to the Burning Crusade expansion. It was a memorable experience going into raids with 40 other guild members working on a boss for hours until we could finally clear it. These days it feels a little static defeating a boss compared to the effort we put in back in the day.
I also love games that allow you to express your own creativity and that is why I continuously come back to Minecraft and the Sims. Minecraft is great when it comes to not only creativity, but also ingenuity and survivability, a great game that I highly recommend.
